It's Official!

Technically, it has been "official" for awhile. We are in the processing of a move to Louisville. Ronnie took a full time position with Northeast Christian Church, so we will be relocating this summer. We are trying to sell our house by owner, so please pray that God brings along the right buyer (the anxious side of me wants to say "soon", but I am trying to be patient and remember His timing is always perfect!)

Some have asked if I am excited about this. Yes and no. . . I am excited for Ronnie because he loves the position and environment in which he will work. It is not super exciting to be moving away from family (we technically live within 5 miles of my parents and brother/sister in law / nephew). However, I know it could always be farther - it is only about an hour and a half away from where we are now.

We haven't really started exploring housing on that end yet. I am going to be staying home with Ella and the baby next year, so I am looking forward to that. (For those of my friends that already get to do this, any advice / ideas / things that work for you / etc would be greatly welcomed!!) I was able to stay home with Ella for 12 weeks after her birth, and we had wonderful sitters! It is still different though. I am excited to be home with the baby, but also for Ella to help her adjust to all the newness around her. We are looking to move probably sometime in August, although I will still have the baby here at Leitchfield in Sept.

Six months along in pregnancy - everything is going well. I type this as I get ready to leave for my last official day of teaching in awhile. I am also excited about that! There is the quick update on our end. I could include some random pictures, but that is exactly what they would be - random! I will try to do that in my next post.

Country Livin'

So I came home from school today and the weather was BEAUTIFUL! We enjoyed a nice afternoon - completely outside. Ella played with her toys, bubbles, slide, etc. Ronnie decided to mow and had a nice little find of his own! I'm impressed that he tackled the job. He killed a 5 foot black snake that was also enjoying the nice weather! Ronnie's initial dead sprint for the shovel is good practice for the upcoming mini-marathon!

View from Roy's in Chicago - Highly suggest the restaurant if you ever have a chance to visit one of their locations! (We first went on our honeymoon in Hawaii, and try to go back to celebrate anything we can come up with!

Ainsley - what a doll!

No kidding - a triple stroller (Avery is in the "jump seat" in the front) I don't think people would have stared any more than if I had 3 heads!:) I'm sure the kids looked like triplets. Surprisingly, it is pretty easy to navigate.

Karen and Caden

Heather, Harper, and the very recent addition Grady! We were able to stop by and visit. I really miss my friends from Plainfield! It was great to be able to catch up and pick up like no time has passed!

Cold Spring Break!

We decided to go to Chicago for Spring Break. Most people go to warm weather - we decided visiting old friends was more important! We had a great time and were able to catch up with a lot of people. Ella got to enjoy Roy's (our favorite restaurant that we really miss from the city), Brookfield Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, as well as meeting the new addition babies to the Joy, Pomeroy, and Labiak family! (Lot's of little friends!!!) Ella had a great time playing with Caden and Avery, too.
We returned to KY just in time to enjoy a couple of 70 degree weather days!

Easter!

We had a great weekend with family. It has been an interesting weekend because not only have we had Easter, we have had March Madness with the NCAA tournament. Ella proudly sported her UK attire much to her daddy's dismay (yes, we are a divided household).

Snow!

Ella says, "I love the view from my bedroom window, but not the actual experience of having to be in it."

Our outdoor snow experience lasted approximately 3 minutes - long enough for one picture, one slight tip over, then back indoors! We are definitely not raising a little snow baby here!!:)

Special Daddy Time

Ronnie and Ella have a new nightly ritual. Every night, he puts her to bed. Before the nightly stories and prayer, they now have a "Daddy and Ella" dance. Steven Curtis Chapman has a new song called "Cinderella". Let me tell you, it's an emotional sight!:) The first night, I was in our bedroom on the other side of the house. I heard the song come on in her room. Of course, my nosy self had to go check it out! I walked into her room and saw the two of them dancing in the dark to the song. I really think I would have found the image emotional, even if I didn't have all these pregnancy hormones!:) I remember thinking, this will be a sight I will remember forever and probably think about on her wedding day (If you are familiar with the song, you know what I mean). Anyway, if you know a daddy with a little girl, pass along the song title. We have another friend who is planning on using the song for the Father/Daughter Dance at their wedding this summer.
